Question for SEO experts, strategists, and content leads: Which keyword would you chase?
→ Option A: Easy KD. Shows up in AI Overviews. Ranks on SERPs. But the organic traffic? Small. Maybe 50–100 visits a month.
→ Option B: Hard KD. Also appears in AI Overviews. Ranks on SERPs. But the organic traffic? Significant. Think 1,500+ visits monthly.
Here's what I want to know:
1. Which one is more valuable to your SEO and content strategy right now?
2. Which one feels like a true badge of honor for SEO writers; the one that says "I earned this rank"?
I'm not here to preach an answer. I want to hear yours.
Some will say easy KD is smart; it builds momentum, stacks quick wins, and proves you can publish and rank without burning budget or months of link building. Low competition means you can test, learn, and move fast.
Others will argue hard KD is where the real game lives. High difficulty means high intent, high volume, and proof you can compete with established players.
Ranking there signals authority, earns trust, and drives revenue that matters. It's the long game, but it pays.
And then there's the AI Overviews layer.
Even if you rank first, you might not get the click. But they might know your brand or see your brand. Maybe remember it or forget it. 😂
That changes the whole value calculation; does traffic volume still matter if users get their answer before they scroll?
My take (I could be wrong, so correct me or let's have a convo via DMs).
→ Strategy depends on where you are. New site or tight resources? Easy KD builds credibility and momentum. Established brand with authority? Hard KD protects market share and brings real revenue and reach.
→ But for writers? I think hard KD is the badge. It shows you can research deeper, write tighter, earn links, and still break through when the odds are stacked.

After years in B2B content, I thought success meant perfect posts and perfect timing.
But the real shift happened when I started showing up as myself, not as a “perfect” marketer.
People want honesty, not perfection.

What made June special?
Joining the Superpath community's 30-day LinkedIn challenge introduced me to incredible like-minded people.
There's something wonderful about watching others share not just their marketing insights, but their human side...
Their creativity, vulnerability, and growth journeys (including LinkedIn metrics! Hahaha)
By God's grace, our organic traffic is up by 68.9% vs last month at Appetiser Apps.
But what truly matters? Our TD shared that our SEO and content efforts are generating high-quality leads for sales.
Numbers are great but impact is everything. Quality > quantity.
Completing a custom link-building plugin with our dev team reminded me why, at Appetiser Apps, we're thinking in systems and seeing things like "engineering our lives."
Automate to focus on what matters.
And it overflows as well in how we think about SEO and content strategies and processes.
From closing in on my Ahref's certification to hitting a new PR on my back squat (60 KG—never thought I'd see that day!), growth happens everywhere when you stay consistent.
Plus, launching my pilot podcast episode was terrifying and exhilarating.
It's called "Beyond Content Marketing" because the best conversations happen when we go deeper than tactics—when we explore stories, connections, and the human side of this industry.
The thread connecting all of this?
Showing up consistently, trying new things, and staying curious.
Whether it's leading monthly sprints as the team's cheerleader, getting more confident on video content, or simply being present for my spouse and Anika who matter most...
June taught me that growth isn't just about hitting metrics.

Email pitches that feel like they're from 2015.
As a content marketer, here's my unsolicited advice to link builders and outreach specialists.
Stop asking. Stop manipulating.
Start connecting.
The partnerships I've built at Appetiser Apps didn't start with someone asking for a link.
They started with genuine conversations, shared insights, and mutual value.

Build relationships first.
Prioritize connections over quick wins.
When you lead with authenticity and value, the links (and opportunities) naturally .

Not really, especially if you’re answering the burning questions of potential customers.
When Angela Leoncio told me we exceeded our organic SQLs last month, I was delighted to hear the news.
Let me share how one blog post landed us a client.
You’ll never guess how one blog post just converted a client.
But of course, the credit highly goes to the sales and app development team for their amazing work.
Here’s some real talk.
As a content marketer, it can be discouraging to see dipping web traffic.
Like, you’re putting in all this work and sometimes you don’t see the immediate impact.
But my TD just shared this win with our team and I had to share it with those who never lose their faith on blogs.
This client was searching for the perfect app development partner when they stumbled upon our Google Ad.
She clicked through, started browsing our website, and then here’s the kicker…
She read one of my blogs about about app marketing costs.
That blog post?
From that blog she filled out our contact form.
From there, our sales team brought them into our Momentum program and now they have a fully launched app with our development team’s support.
The thing is, the customer journey was never linear, you know?
Like, you’ll never know which piece of content will be THE piece that converts or CONVINCES someone.
Plus the intertwined efforts of the sales and product teams.
Here’s what I learned from this: We’re not just writing blogs for Google or for algorithms.
We’re really answering the burning questions of our potential clients.
And the key?
Explaining things in simple words that they can actually understand.
Our pomposity and jargon-filled articles will only confuse them.
Thus we need to think how customers think.
What words do they use?
Are they satisfied with the answers?
It’s amazing how all these efforts: the paid ads, the organic content, the technical SEO stuff, the web design: it all works together.
And sometimes success starts with those seemingly small things:
An internal link update
An image optimization
Maybe a schema markup integration
What’s that 1% you can improve in your content today?
Noticing a decline in traffic lately? Even if AI overviews are dominating top and middle funnel content, you can still thrive today. Focus on the bottom funnel and address your customers' pressing concerns Make it helpful, fun, unique, and sincere. Always prioritize their needs.
Tim Soulo’s post on his quest in finding his copywriter has gained 500 comments.
It’s about a dozen copywriters who couldn’t answer 4 basic questions during interviews last year and only ONE, according to him, “gave answers that were even close to satisfactory.”
How he framed his post spark conversations among aspiring and seasoned (and veteran) ones..
Instead of joining the pile-on shaming those who don’t know these frameworks and lording over them…
Here’s what I think we should focus on:
The gap isn’t just knowing frameworks.
It’s knowing HOW to use them.
Anyone can Google “AIDA formula” or “PAS framework.”
(Not “Aleyda Solis tho this gal knows her stuff about SEO”… it’s AIDA 😄)
I made this video and edited it myself because I have a message to all aspiring and seasoned copywriters. ✨
To every aspiring copywriter reading this:
Study human psychology, not just templates.
Network with thought leaders in the space.
Invest in courses that teach application, not just theory.
Most importantly. Understand your customers deeper than anyone else
You’re CAPABLE. Keep IMPROVING.
Don’t just sell products. Sell stories that connect.
And to all seasoned ones and pros alike, instead of gatekeeping, let’s lift each other up.
We were all beginners once.
Pay it forward by mentoring someone who’s just starting their copywriting journey.
